Parents Corner

Welcome to the parent's corner section.  Here you will be able to find out general information about the important tests your student may take (MAP, MISA, HSA, ReadiStep, PSAT and PARCC).  Under this tab you will also be able to view resources that can help your student prepare for the various tests.

MAP
According to State College Area School District and NWEA, MAP is a computerized adaptive assessment taken on an individual basis. When taking a MAP assessment, the difficulty of each question is based upon how well a student answers all of the previous questions. As the student answers correctly, questions become more difficult. If the student answers incorrectly, the questions become easier. In an optimal test, the student answers approximately half the items correctly and half incorrectly. The final score is an estimate of the student’s achievement level.  For more information about MAP, please click on the link provided: MAP Information
