Educating Today’s Student for Academic and Social Success

The Crossroads Center is an alternative academic program, which provides educational and social/emotional support services to students who experience academic challenges.
Students at the Crossroads Center are at “a crossroad” in their educational process and in their personal lives.  The decision to come to this alternative program will have an effect on their lives, their learning, and their future.  As students work through our program, they will constantly make decisions, take on the role of life-long learner and see how their decisions affect their lives and ultimately direct their future.  The goal of the program is to assist students in making significant academic gains, particularly in reading and mathematics, and to develop the social/emotional skills necessary to be successful in their transition from Crossroads.

T
he mission of the program is to build the self-discipline, appropriate coping mechanisms, and academic skills students need by providing the educational and support services necessary to assist them.  The educational program supports the outcomes and indicators of the Baltimore County Public School Curriculum while incorporating alternative approaches to meet the individual needs of our students.
